15 year old Boy Dies in Violent School Attack

jai-2

School Angels has been warning about escalating school violence for over a year now. On August 29, 15 year old Jai Morcom, was killed in a fight at his school. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Jai Morcom, 15, died from head injuries in Gold Coast Hospital after he was reportedly shoved against a brick wall during a fight at Mullumbimby High School, on the state's North Coast, on Friday.

Jai's mother, Ms Kim Morcom said: ''This is such a tragedy, and it's not just Jai. We are seeing our children kill each other in the schoolyard. We need to wake up to it.You don't send your kids to school thinking they're going to die." she added

You don't send your kids to school thinking they're going to die

"Jai was just a gentle little guy. He wasn't a fighter.''

The altercation that broke out at the school's lunch tables during mid-morning recess reportedly began as ''play fighting'', but soon escalated after one student reportedly spat on another.

Ms Morcom said she had been told her son had been ''bashed against a wall'' and suffered fatal brain injuries.

F#@k, My goodness why did Jai die I cant imagine the pain his mum feels. Now lets stop it here and lets not condemn the child who pushed him. I believe society has failed the child who pushed Jai. Lets look at society..its so good that Kiddies have all this freedom. NOT. As far as I am concerned kids should be kids and they need discipline fro parents and from school. KEVIN Rudd bring back parental control .... seen and not heard is fine by me I have 4 great kids and they know their place... its not that they are put down but they Know how to behave at an "ADULT" function and how to behave "BEING A KID" F#@K school principals take back control and harden and also the parents of the run about kids...GET CONTROL AND LET THEM KNOW THAT THEY HAVE TO EARN RESPECT IN THIS WORLD>>>Seriously I worry about being an old person in a nursing home...I'm going to be treated like crap

my sincere sympathy and heart felt condolences go to jai's family. what a beautiful and wonderful boy, and it is overwhelming that our children are at a point where extreme and uncontrollable violence enacts this end.

i hope jai will always be remembered, and that his family have the support of their communities.

I am so sad and very sorry that this handsome young man has died so tragically. I can't imagine the total disbelief, the loss, the desolation and the eventual anger the family will be feeling. I offer my unfounded sympathy and extend my prayers to Jai and all his family. This particular incident has really hit a nerve with everyone and brought to light, yet again just how bad the problem is. Good on the student body for marching if it goes ahead, they are fed up completely. ADULTS DON'T HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS! HOW ABOUT PARENTS AND TEACHERS TALKING TO TEENAGERS MORE AND ACTUALLY LISTENING!!!!! No one is an island. It is totally unacceptable in todays society that bullying and harassment should be tolerated. What is the answer and how can we change things? God bless Jai and I hope the people responsible for this heinos crime live with the guilt forever.
