STUDENT Angela Stankovic and her mother, Danijela, left their troubled homeland of Serbia seeking "a better life" in Australia.
Today they are nursing their wounds after a terrifying attack by a gang of male and female school bullies who allegedly ambushed them at a Gold Coast bus stop as other students recorded the incident on phone cameras.
Angela "celebrated" her 15th birthday yesterday in a neck brace and barely able to move after the bashing, which happened only three weeks after she moved schools because of constant bullying, and even death-threats, by an ex-schoolmate and her friends.
She was allegedly set upon by a group of about 15 students who punched her and kicked her as she cowered on the ground at a Nerang bus stop on Monday afternoon.
